In today's lesson we were learning to trust each other.
The reason we did this exercise I think is so that we can learn to trust each other better so that when we're performing, when we mess up we can trust the other actors t help us out.
What we did...
What we had to do was go into pairs and catch each other.
We would take it in turns to to catch each other, the first catching exercise we did was catch someone falling backwards and catch them and lean into their fall so we didn't hurt ourselves and so we didn't hurt the who we're meant to be falling. Then we had to catch them falling sideways and forward.
The next exercise we did...
The next exercise we did was "film vision".
This is where we put both our hands on either side of the side of our heads to block our professorial vision. Then we had to walk round the room with everyone else and use complicity to sense when we feel like there's someone coming up to us from the side.
The next exercise we did....
The next exercise was where we had to pretend we were on a boat, and then we would have to sway side to side as if waves were swaying a boat, then using complicity we had to fall and catch ourselves at the same time.
I think we did this to get more more focus within the class.
